Rub-a-dub-dub

Foaming Vanilla Honey Bath

1 cup oil (almond or jojoba work wonderfully)
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup liquid soap ( I used unscented)
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
Mix together all the ingredients and pour into a clean bottle with a tight fitting stopper or lid.
To use, shake before using. Pour 1/4 cup into the bath under running water.
Yields 16 ounces - enough for 8 baths.

Fizzing Bath Bombs
1/2 cup baking soda
4 tablespoons citric acid
2 tablespoons Borax powder
4 tablespoons granulated sugar
4 tablespoons almond essential oil (or other light oil-jojoba works great, so does olive oil)
1/2 teaspoon essential oil (for scent)
1 teaspoon of water or witch hazel (I used witch hazel) Be very careful how much you add, too much and your mixture will grow. It will start to react and leave you with big soft foamy balls, not the hard compact kind you're looking for.

Combine all the dry ingredients in bowl, stirring well. Add the wet ingredients and stir well. Texture will feel like wet sand.

Take a heaping tablespoon of mixture and press it into your mold. I used a mold intended for candy making. Soap molds work great too, I've even seen them done with plastic ornaments. Put on wax paper and let dry and harden for at least 6 to 10 hours ( I waited 24). Store in an airtight container.
NOTE: You can also add Vitamin E oil to this recipe by squeezing the oil from a Vitamin E capsule.

To test the mixture I put some warm water in my measuring cup and it instantly reacted. Soap safe dye can also be used to color your bath fizzies.

Strawberries and Cream Bath Bags
Source: Kellie O'Brien
1/2 cup oatmeal (regular or quick)
1/2 cup powdered milk
4 tablespoons almond meal
16 drops strawberry essential oil
Combine dry ingredients in bowl, stirring to mix well. Add essential oil and blend. Divide mixture among 3 pretty cloth bags, and tie them at the top. Hang from the bathtub faucet as the water is running into the tub.
