Its DIY Week!

I am a big fan of the DIY concept. If I can do something myself and save the money, consider it done. Many times, especially when it comes to caring for my body, I find that if I do something myself, I can avoid a lot of unnecessary ingredients.

In honor of Do It Yourself Week I'm having a giveaway!! (this giveaway has ended) The prize? A gift basket including all of my DIY Fav's- Bath Salt, Milk Bath, Bar Soap, Lip Balm and Bath Fizzies. Who wouldn't want that? Here's how you enter:
Four entries are possible. The first needs to be a comment left by you telling me the one part of your beauty routine you couldn't live without (for me it would be my mascara) and your e-mail address, so I can let you know if you're the winner.
Entry two: It's easy, just follow the blog. Become a follower and leave a comment letting me know you do.
Entry three: Tell a friend about this blog. Leave a comment telling me you've linked this blog to facebook or twitter, and leave the url address.
Entry four: add my button to your blog. To do this you'll need the html code in the white box on the left side bar. Leave the link to your blog in the comment.

The Winning comment will be chosen by random.org This giveaway contest will run for the length of the DIY Week. It will end Sunday night at 11:59 (EST). Good Luck!

Here is a DIY recipe for facial moisturizer:
Mix 1 cup liquid oil such as avocado or almond with ½ cup beeswax. Place over low heat until the beeswax melts. Remove from heat and whisk until cool. Add the contents of three capsules of Vitamin E and add a few drops of pure essential oil for aroma. Pour into a sterile jar and store in a cool dry place.

Extra tidbit: you only need to use a dime size amount of moisturizer; any more is a waste of money. Also don’t forget your neck and décolleté. Women with darker skin must remember this area. If forgotten many times you’ll have a lighter face than the neck.

Exfoliating Mask: ½ cup cornmeal, ½ cup oatmeal, Pulverize in a blender or food processor. Shake out a palmful and mix with warm water to make a paste. Gently press the mask onto face. Leave on for 5 minutes. Rinse off with warm water. Apply moisturizer.

For oily skin: 4 tablespoons of clay (use white Kaolin or fuller’s earth-found at health food stores) 2 Tablespoons lemon pulp 2 teaspoons honey 2 tablespoons water 2 drops eucalyptus oil or jojoba oil (optional) Mix the ingredients thoroughly. Apply to face. Leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water. Apply moisturizer.

1st entry - A part of my beauty routine that I cannot live without is moisturizer. After every shower when I've exfoliated and washed my face, I dry off and immediately use my moisturizer. I have tried three different kinds and actually my fave has been the ANEW by Avon. And every one I have used has a sunscreen of at least 15spf in it.

2nd entry - I am now officially a follower of your blog - I already was! but now I have made the formal steps through blogger.com.

3rd entry - I also have your blog address listed on my blog address list on the right of my family webpage. But here is a link showing that I blogged a special entry about it on my craft blog: http://thecozyhousecrafter.blogspot.com/2010/03/really-cool-giveaway.html.

Thanks for my 3 chances to win!

I've finally figured out how to follow a blog. yeah. way behind on that one. Anyway, I'm following yours. I also have your button on my blog, but It won't let you add me to my blog list, which is how I typically keep up to date on blogs. I'll keep trying.

Loving the tips btw. Especially the recipes!
